Hoskinson sees Solana as a console that needs to be fixed since it is broken.
A collaboration with the network would make sense, according to Cardano's Charles Hoskinson, who was responding to a query about how ADA could cooperate with Solana during a Saturday "ask me anything" session. He believes that IOG could assist in fixing Solana.
The IOG founder elaborated on the remark by likening the Solana network to an outdated Nintendo system in need of repairs. He did this by drawing comparisons to a Nintendo repair company his brother had owned.
Hoskinson began by saying, "You know, working with Solana would actually make a lot of sense," before going into more detail about his brother's previous Nintendo repair company. "So I was thinking that maybe there's some heritage there, you know, since you know Solana originates from that environment, that we can find out how to turn it on and off, pulling it out on the cartridge, and these types of things. It might be doable, but I'm not sure.
Hoskinson continued, "But my brother no longer does Nintendo stuff. He's a doctor," a subtle implication that he might not be eager to repair the network.
Notably, the Cardano head has already used the parallel when referring to Solana. After hearing about the Solana outage in June, Hoskinson tweeted a link to a YouTube tutorial on how to fix broken game systems.
It's important to remember that Solana's developers have previously been quick to disparage the Cardano network. Notably, a video with co-founders of Solana Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal criticizing IOG for being overly cautious that was first released 11 months ago was revived in June, and it has not held up well.
At least seven outages have occurred in Solana since September. Interestingly, it had outages in the beginning of May and June but avoided them in July.
Cardano appears to be hitting its stride in terms of development, it is important to note. At the end of the month, the IOG team plans to roll out the Vasil hard fork, which is anticipated to greatly increase the network's scalability, throughput, and smart contract capabilities.
Ahead of ninth-placed Solana, Cardano's native token ADA is currently ranked eighth among the biggest digital assets by market valuation.
